Do you like stories? Of course you do, we all do. Jesus did too and he told many of them. In fact, Jesus' stories were so engaging that they gave them a special name: parables. For the month of September we will be checking out a few of these parables. This week we will examine the Parable of the Two Sons found in Matthew 21:28-32. This is not one of Jesus' most popular parables. But like the rest, it packs a punch.

Jesus said a lot of nice things, a lot of things that you would expect a spiritual leader to say. He said things like, “forgive and you will be forgiven” and “all things are possible with God.” But Jesus also said some things that were quite provocative, counter cultural, and even shocking. For the next few weeks, we will look at some of the more astonishing things Jesus said recorded in the Gospels.
