Introducing Anthony & Breanna Vander Schaaf

Breanna and Anthony could not be more excited to be joining the community of MCC! We have been praying for years about where Spirit is leading us and we are thrilled to be landing in this season at MCC.

Breanna is a  graduate of Calvin University, where she participated in Track & Field, and Basketball while earning her degree in Nursing. Currently Bre works for Care Resources as an RN for seniors through the Kentwood PACE program. Bre loves cooking, quilting, using her green thumb in the garden, and all activities that are outside. She is always up for a run or a good cup of coffee (she may or may not be a coffee snob, according to Anthony)

Anthony calls California home, but is excited to be putting down roots in Michigan at MCC. Anthony graduated from Long Beach State University, and worked as a behavioral therapist before moving to Grand Rapids to attend Calvin Theological Seminary. Anthony is passionate about bringing our everyday lives into connection with worshipping our God. He is excited to explore new expressions of worship and spiritual growth with MCC as the Ministry Leader of Worship Arts. Anthony loves roasting coffee, making music, and reading all the books.

Bre and Anthony have been married nearly 4 years, and have worked at adventure science camps in California, and churches in the Grand Rapids area. Currently they also serve as Project Neighborhood Mentors through Calvin University, where they mentor and house university students. In this program they teach spiritual growth through spiritual disciplines of everyday life and community engagement.
“We love creating warm, inviting spaces for community to form, and are so excited to begin the process of creating a community with you all”
