The Last Week: The End of the World According to Jesus

The last week - sermon series at Monroe Community Church

Pastor Jim noted that in Matthew 24, Jesus described the future troubles that his followers will face as encompassing politics, nature, morality, and the spiritual realm. Which of these most concern you now?

Pastor Jim described hope not as optimism about the future but as an inner strength that enables us to move forward when things seem fruitless. What fosters that sort of hope in you? What hinders it?

What do you think of the idea that hope involves watching? How can watching be a part of your spiritual practice?

Pastor Jim suggested that the knowledge of Christ’s return ought to change how we live in the present. How can or could that knowledge change your present life?
